Relaxation of Muscles
Stanislavsky said that only when you relax your muscles can you devote yourself to the operation of your five senses.
Not only do actors need to be aware of their character’s motivations, actions and behaviors but they also need to be aware of what’s happening with other real-life situations on the stage. When you’re stressed out you probably won’t notice when something unexpected happens. But by being relaxed, you will be more likely to notice that you dropped your handkerchief, allowing you to pick it up in character, sometimes leading to the most natural and memorable moments on stage.
This begins by being relaxed.
